MEMBERSHIP

 

Membership Information

The Hong Kong Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (HKSPEN) welcomes individuals who share a passion for advancing clinical nutrition and improving patient care. Membership is categorized into the following types:

 

Membership Categories

  1. Ordinary Members
  • Open to qualified medical practitioners, registered nurses, and registered dietitians in Hong Kong who are involved in the management of nutritional disorders.
  • Requires nomination and approval by the Council.
  • Annual Membership Fee: HK$200.

 

  1. Associate Members
  • Open to individuals, both local and overseas, who are interested in clinical nutrition.
  • Enjoy all privileges of the Society except voting rights and eligibility to hold office.
  • Requires nomination and approval by the Council.
  • Annual Membership Fee: HK$100.

 

  1. Honorary Members
  • Conferred as a lifetime membership to leaders in clinical nutrition who have made significant contributions to the Society.
  • Requires nomination by two Ordinary Members and approval by the Council and Annual General Meeting.
  • No membership fee required.

 

Membership Application Process

  1. All candidates must be proposed and seconded by two Ordinary Members of the Society.
  2. Applications must be submitted in writing to:

Along with a cheque made payable to Hong Kong Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Limited.

  1. Applications will be reviewed at the Council meeting. Successful applicants will receive an official receipt as confirmation of membership.

 

Membership Fees

Annual subscription fees:

  • Ordinary Members: HK$200
  • Associate Members: HK$100

Membership fees are payable in advance on January 1st each year.

As a non-profit organization, the Society may waive the annual membership fee, subject to a resolution passed at the Annual General Meeting. Any such notice regarding fee exemptions or waivers will be announced to members following the meeting.

 

Membership Termination

Members may resign by submitting written notice to the Honorary Secretary but are still responsible for the subscription fee for the current year.

In cases of misconduct or actions harmful to the Society, membership may be revoked by the Council after due process.
